The State government will recruit as many as 20,000 teachers shortly against permanent posts through district selection committees (DSC).
Finance Minister K. Rosaiah announced this at a press conference, where he stated that direct recruitment on such a massive scale was never undertaken before.
He said as many as 7,95,760 people had been offered employment during the last four years through direct recruitments undertaken by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC), the DSCs, public sector undertakings like APSRTC, APGenco, APTransco and through contract appointments and outsourcing.
The Finance Minister said notifications would be issued to undertake recruitments through these agencies and through the State Police Recruitment Board to fill the vacant posts in various departments numbering 6,061. Besides, notification would also be issued “very soon” to recruit another 20,000 teaches through DSCs.
